I honestly can’t remember if I’ve ever participated in a a tome topple before, I think I might have participated in round six, but I’m not one hundred percent on that. Also sorry that all my posts are very readathon centric lately, I’m just really enjoying participating in them.
For those who don’t know Tome Topple, is a two week readathon that focuses on reading tomes (books 500+ pages.), this can be in any format as long as the physical copy is over 500 pages. For more info check out the announcement video. This round will run from midnight April 13th to 11:59 pm April 26th, in your own timezone.
There is also five challenges, these challenges aren’t compulsory but they seem fun.
Read an adult book.
The tome that has been on your tbr the longest.
A tome in a genre that you don’t usually read.
A tome that’s part of a series.
To read more then one tome in the readathon.
I plan on reading three tomes over the two weeks.
Firstly I want to finish The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. I know I’ve already started this one, but I’ve only read 200 pages and I have over 500 pages to go, so in my opinion this counts. Priory will fulfill the challenge of reading an adult book.
Next Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor. I just finished my re-read of Strange the Dreamer, and want to get to Muse asap. This will fulfill the challenge of reading a tome that’s part of a series.
And finally Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, I’ve been wanting to read this for a while but just haven't gotten to it yet. This will fulfill the challenge of the tome that has been on your tbr the longest; this ones been their three years, so it’s time to get to it. As well as the challenge of reading a tome in a genre you don’t usually read, I don’t read a lot of classics.
And as long as I manage to finish at least two of these books I will be able to complete the challenge of reading more then one tome during the readathon. As always you can follow me on instagram @sambevlee throughout the readathon, I’ll be posting updates during the readathon.
So that’s what I’ll be planning to read during the readathon. What about you? Are you participating? IOf so let me know your tbr down in the comments.
