June is here and that means winter in also, I mean I know that winter doesn’t technically start till the solace but I like starting it at the beginning of the month. It gives me that kind of new year feeling again. I’ve been blogging for a couple of months now, though I’ve not been super great at the consistency, though I really enjoy it I’ve found it hard to integrate into my daily life. However the last few months have been so crazy different; starting university has been a huge life change for me, I can’t believe that my first semester is over. With all the crazy changes in mind I’m trying to go easier on myself. I even tried focusing on a schedule for posting but I found that it didn’t really work, because sometimes I have heaps of time to write blog posts and other times like the last couple of weeks where I’ve had a lot of essays due.
I think I need to focus on writing more posts when I have the time and then scheduling them, because that way I’ll have content more consistently. I know that probably sounds like a given to anybody experienced with blogging, but it is sometimes something you have to work out on your own. I also don’t want to put to much pressure on myself about blogging, I want it to be something that is fun. But I also want to be able to create regular content for anybody who is reading my blog.
For the new season I want to change the blog graphics, I want to make them fancier and more aesthetically pleasing. Hopefully if they look prettier and be more engaging.
I also want to fiddle with the content from the blog. I’ll obviously continue making bookish content, though I want to structure it a different way. I’ve found that I didn’t really enjoy doing the seasonal tbr post, because though it was what I wanted to read most at the time of posting, my reading mood changes all the time and it just became redundant. I’m still not going to do monthly tbr’s for the same reasons. I’m also going to change the way I do wrap-ups to more of a recent reads style post of five-ish mini reviews of books I’ve read recently. This change is due to the fact that by the time the end of the month comes around I can hardly remember what I’ve read and how I felt about it. Also some months I read quite a few books and the post is really long.
Another thing I want to add is posts about my writing, in the form of updates about what I’m writing and anything I’ve learnt about writing, or any writing plans. Also maybe some lifestyle and travel related posts, if I think of them.
Also I think I’m going to get rid of the “Let’s Chat” thing at the bottom of the post, I feel that it doesn’t really sign off posts properly and also I don’t think the questions are worthwhile. So I’m going to sign off my posts differently.
All the Best,
